What to expect

Great Lakes Church is simply a comfortable place to come and experience God! No one will push you or make you feel uncomfortable, and you can feel the joy and happiness the second you walk through the doors. We invite you to throw on some jeans and come joins us!

Our service is 11AM Sunday mornings and we dismiss at noon. It is a laid back atmosphere so feel free to wear your Browns gear! We offer complimentary coffee, hot tea and Panera Bread, so come hungry.

We have a phenomenal children's program that your kids will love. Our KidStuf program is one of the biggest and brightest ministries of the church. So many children are helped each week in learning about God and learning to grow up to be responsible, caring and loving adults. It is safe and secure, so you can sit and relax during the service.

who we are

Great Lakes Church (GLC) is a Christian church in Lorain, Ohio. GLC is an approved church with Ohio Ministries of the Church of God and is an approved non-profit Christian church with affiliation with our national Church of God Offices in Anderson, IN.

We started gathering as a small group of people on March 30, 2008 and have simply started a word-of-mouth invitation to all people in Amherst and surrounding communities looking for a Christian church where God is honored and we "show people Jesus" through loving acts of service and kindness rather than just telling people about Jesus.

The very essence of this church is to spend more time serving our friends, neighbors, family and community rather than spending more time inside a building talking about it. .

Simply different

What do we mean when we say we are "Simply Different"? Great Lakes Church believes that the local church is not a destination in and of itself. Rather it is a hub for people to come in order that they may hear Gods Word, believe it and then be sent out to serve others.

We are a "Go and Do" church.

When we say we are simply different we mean that we are striving to be the Church that God intended us to be. Unfortunately, that is a far cry from where the American Church as a whole stands today. You can help us to be different.
